Mechanisms underlying Treg immune regulation in the tumor-microenvironment. Tregs express a unique complement of immunosuppressive molecules on their surfaces, including lymphocyte-activation gene-3 and ATP- and AMP-degrading enzymes. They also secrete immune regulatory modulators (such as granzyme B) and cytokines (IL10, TGFβ etc.), by which they can negatively regulate dendritic cells as well as cytotoxic T cells thereby facilitating tumor initiation and progression
